Monday Makeover // New Blog Look

Hi babes!

Notice anything different?! I updated my blog and I am LOOOVING it! I still have a lot to do with it and learn but it is finally getting there. If someone would have told me that blogging is hard, I would have laughed in their face. For those who don't blog, it is HARD, y'all! So for today's "Makeover Monday" I thought I would give some tips and tricks for those of you that want to start your own blog!

I started this blog with zero experience!. When I say I needed a "Blogging for Dummies," I really did. I am not kidding. I seriously googled that at one time. This is and still is a learning experience for me but I am loving it. Don't get me wrong, there have been times when I wanted to give up because it was frustrating, but then I remember why I do it. It really is a wonderful experience and if you are interested, go for it!

Once you know what you want to blog about, whether it is fashion, motherhood, food, etc. the first tip I can give is get a domain name! This is very important because you obviously need your own webpage before blogging. You can either purchase your own domain, which is super affordable, I purchased mine through GoDaddy.com, or you can use blogspot. I like having my own so I have more freedom to do what I please. Once you have your domain name, you will need a server. I use Blogger because to me, it is easy to understand. There are others that bloggers use, it just depends on what the person finds beneficial to them.

Now it is time for the fun part!...designing your blog! When I first started my blog, I used a free template. It was not what I wanted my blog to look like but I knew I would eventually get there. My blog's look still isn't exactly what I want but I am getting better on designing. I have been told and agree, to not worry about how your blog looks, but focus on your content. Write and just write some more! Your viewers are not going to your blog to see how pretty it is, they are there to read your content. So focus on your content and the rest will fall into place.

YouTube will be your best friend as well as reaching out to other bloggers. Those big time bloggers all started out just like you and me. They know how frustrating it can be and how much time one can put into their blog. You also want to make sure to get out in the social media world and let them know you are blogging. No one is going to know unless you "advertise." I only use Instagram but so far it has helped my blog grow just in this short time that I have been blogging. This gets your name out there and you will meet great people along the way.  I know that I am waaaayyy far from being a big time blogger, if I ever get there, but I wanted to share what I have learned thus far from my blogging experience.

I hope this tiny amount of info helped anyone who is starting out, just like me! There is more that goes into blogging but I didn't want to bore you! Ha! If you have any questions about blogging or anything else, please feel free to comment below or send me an e-mail. I hope you all enjoy my blog's new look!

Hello Babe // BootayBag

"Booty, Booty, Booty, rockin' everywhere!" Anyone else remember that song?! 😛 No, I'm not just singing this song because it is stuck in my head! I am singing it because I am bringing you a fantasic brand that I am collaborating with that I am loving and dedicating to my "Friday Favorites!" The BootyBag! 🍑😉

I know a lot of you have probably seen those social media posts of a picture that says, "Hello babe: I'm here" and you may have thought, "What the heck are those?" I know I did! Well, I am here to give you the breakdown of an amazing company that is doing amazing things.

A BootayBag is a monthly subscription where you will receive two pair of undies for a flat rate of $12 and NO shipping costs! You can also do bi-monthly, just whatever you prefer. Like I have said before, I will not promote something that I don't believe is a great product. I was blown away at how soft and comfortable these undies are. Oh, and super sexy! 😉 My hubby definitely approves! I love how breathable they are and feel like you are almost wearing no undies at all. Even though these are sexy undies, they are super comfortable. I hate when I find a pair of underwear that is so cute but they are so uncomfortable. Well you don't have to worry about that with BootayBag!

You can choose what type of undies you want...thongs, no thongs, or a mix-up. The sizes are TTS, which I love because it can be hard to find a good pair of undies that fit well. Not only do they have undies, they also have bralettes for an additional charge of $13 or you can just get a bralette subscription for $13. The bralettes are so pretty. I cannot give my personal review on the bralette because I only have the undies. Darn!

Now for the amazing reason you should subscribe to BootayBag! For every picture snapped of Boota

yBag and uploaded to social media, they donate a $1 to the Melanoma Foundation. This is really dear to my heart because I have had members of my family suffer from it. So, what are you waiting for?! Every woman needs underwear so why not have 2 pair shipped to your home for $12 a month! It's one package your husband won't mind coming every month! 😉It's such an amazing company and you will not be disappointed with your decision.

Back to School // Boys Fashion

Hi guys and gals! This week is a little different than usual because it is BACK TO SCHOOL week in this household. So to celebrate, I want to let my kiddos take over my blog...kinda! 😉 I planned on having a "Makeover Monday" but we have been SO busy getting ready for the first day of school, which is TODAY! I cannot believe I have a fourth and first grader! 😮 What the what?! For today's "Wear it Wednesday," I wanted to share where I shop for my boys clothing and how I like to dress them. Yes, I still pick out every.single.outfit my boys wear. Don't judge! 😉

For starters, I am huge believer in sales and good deals! Especially when it comes to clothing my boys because they will eventually have stains and rips. I cannot count how many times my boys come home from school with a rip in their pants. They are some rough and tough boys! 😌 So enough talking about rips and stains and let's get to talking about how I score awesome clothes for a steal!

Since my boys are WAY into sports, they are in athletic wear about 95% of the time. This is totally ok with me because it's easy to choose outfits and they are comfortable. A majority of their clothing is Nike, Under Armour, and ADIDAS. I really like these brands because they hold up so well and can be worn the following year if you purchase a little bigger than usual. You may thinking, "those brands can be expensive for children's clothing!" and yes it can be but I am here to help you find deals on them. For instance, yesterday I found a pair of Nike shorts for my oldest on Nordstrom for $28.00, but thanks to Nordstrom's price match I got them for $19.00 because Champs was having a sale on them. I ordered from Nordstrom because it's always free shipping and I get points for every purchase.

I hardly ever purchase my boys clothing from Nordstrom unless it is a good deal or I can price match an item...but Nordstrom Rack will be your BEST FRIEND when it comes to your children's clothing. OMG I just LOVE their prices. They have a lot of options in their athletic department for children and it is so affordable. They usually have Nike shirts for like $10! Seriously! Luckily, I have a Nordstrom Rack close by but if you are not as lucky, don't fret because you can shop online through Nordstromrack.com. They don't have everything that you will find in a store but you can still find really great options.

Another place that I love to shop for athletic wear is Kohls. Unfortunately, you cannot use coupons like you used to be able to on Nike, Under Armour, or ADIDAS. This was not always the case. I loved being able to use my 30% off coupon on those brands. You could get a pair of sneakers for SO cheap. I haven't given up on them yet because a lot of times, they have a great clearance rack with those brands. So make sure to check those clearance racks! Last weekend, I was able to get 3 Nike shirts and a pair of shorts for $40. To me that is a steal because they are items that will be worn next year as well. I always size up so they can wear for more than a few months.

I could talk about the deals I get for my kiddos all day long but then you may get bored! So, if you have any questions about where else I shop, please feel free to leave a comment or e-mail. As always these are my opinions and what works for me may not work for everyone.

Jen Miracle

Friday Favorites // Velvet

FRI-NALLY! 😀 Did I spell that right?! Haha. You get the point. If you are new to reading my blog, you came on a good day! Today is "Friday Favorites!" My favorite because it lets my viewers in on what I am currently swooning over. So let's get right to it!

If you haven't heard by now, velvet is such a hot trend! When I first saw a few items that were velvet, not gonna lie, I cringed a little. It made me think of something my grandmother would wear or like those velvet type couches from waaay back. You know what I'm talking about. Ha! Anyway, velvet is literally taking over the fashion world! There are velvet dresses, shoes, hats, tops, pants, jewelry, handbags etc. You name it, there is most likely a velvet version of it. I, myself, have yet to purchase anything velvet, but I am currently eyeing a pair of velvet blush throw pillows for my living area. Actually, I take that back! My new Steve Madden pearl mules are velvet. Even if you are not loving the velvet trend or you are on the fence, I think after reading this post, you just may jump on the bandwagon.

I just cannot with this top! I am SWOOOOONING over this.😍😍😍 Everything about is just perf. Not only is it by my favorite brand, BP., it is floral, peplum, bell sleeve, and velvet trim! What else can you ask for in a top?! This baby will become mine soon enough. This is the perfect top if you are wanting to try out the velvet trend because it just has that velvet trim. Uh, just so dang perfect! Love it!

This bag is so affordable but looks high end. I love the simplicity of it. Just a chain and velvet material is all it needs to dress up a look within a second. Comes in three colors. I wouldn't use this for my everyday bag because let's face it, this boy mom of 3 needs a big bag! HA! It is one I would wear to a date night or girls night.

I know I have talked about this before but loafers and mules are also a hot item this fall. I am loving these loafers! They look so comfy and can be worn with anything...leggings, skinnies, skirt, dress, etc. They come in 4 colors and are currently 10% off. I could see myself wearing these everyday. Main Image - Lucky Brand Carlyn Loafer Flat (Women)

Can we just say, "dayyyuuummm!" Ladies, if you are wanting to spice up your marriage/relationship, throw this bad boy on and I guarantee your partner won't be able to keep his/her hands off of you! This is just beyond gorge! It is sexy but not that "Jersey Shore" sexy...yuck! 😷 I want-want-want! This also would a beautiful dress to wear to a fall/winter wedding. So versatile!

Main Image - Love, Fire Crushed Velvet D-Ring Dress

Ok ladies and gents, those are  my "Friday Favorites" that I am currently in love with. I just want all them to come home with me! Why can't I be rich!? 😭 Ha! I will keep you updated if I purchase any of these items. I hope y'all have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend! You deserve it! 😙

Momiforms

Hey there, hi there! So, just a quick update on my herniated disc...it is getting better, y'all! Yay! I am still having to take it really slow but it's not like a severe constant pain. Still going to the chiropractor 3x times a week but it is sooo worth it. He is amazing! I am more than ready to be myself again because I have gained quite a bit of weight from this and I am ready to work these extra pounds off!

Now on to "Wear it Wednesday!" Before I became an aspiring blogger, I say aspiring because I am still so new and learning, I always thought, "where are these women going dressed so on point!" Well, truth is, a lot of times they are just wearing the outfit for their blog and will change once they are done shooting. I cannot speak for all bloggers, but I know that when I post a pic of me wearing an outfit or a flatlay, I will probably change into my daily "momiform!" Y'all I live, breathe, and die for a pair of leggings and a basic tee. That's what brings me to today's post..."momiforms!" I thought I would share a few "momiforms" that YOU can make look so on point while being extremely comfy.

I thought I would share just a few "momiforms" that I love and explain how I make them look more than a tee and leggings.

I love a good black tee!...but when I pair it with leggings, I like to add something to it so it doesn't look like I am robbing a bank. With this outfit, I just put on a leopard scarf so it wasn't too much black going on. You could wear this alone in the spring/summer or with a cute jacket/cardi in the fall/winter.

Another way I dressed this black tee is with this oatmeal colored cardi. I loooove cardigans and basically live in them in the fall/winter. This is such an easy look but you still look put together. Pair it with some simple jewelry and you are set to go.

Nothing is better than a basic white tee. I tied this one in a knot to give it a little bit more edge than just a frumpy tee paired with leggings. So comfy!

If you know me, you know I own tons of baseball caps. They are so helpful on rainy or bad hair days. It's hard to see but this one says ,"wrk it." I just love it and it dresses up this basic look!

If I see anything striped, I am buying! I have SO many striped tops it is just a bit ridic! When all of your leggings are dirty, happens to me all the time, it's time to get out those
comfy skinnies and pair it with a good top. Love this look!

I hope these outfit inspo's help you momma's out there that are looking for simple and comfy outfits ideas. If you have any questions about any of these looks, please feel free to comment below or shoot me a quick e-mail. See you back here on Friday for "Friday Favorites!"

Makeover Monday // Dove Shampoo/Conditioner

Hello all you beauties!

First, I want to apologize for being so M.I.A lately. If you have seen any of my IG posts lately, you know that I have literally been down with severe back pain. Like I can't do anything but lie on my stomach, which I am doing now. It is the only kind of relief that I get from this constant pain. Well, last week I found out that I have a herniated disc. 😢 I have to go the chiropractor 3x a week until it is fixed. I have been twice already and feel that I have yet received any relief. Nothing the chiropractor isn't doing, he is great, it is just that much pain. This is why I haven't been on here as much. Hopefully by the end of the week I start to have a little bit of relief because it is awful!!

So, now for the real reason you are here today..."Makeover Monday!" Yay! I don't know about you, but new beauty products make me so giddy especially when I am blown away by how well they work. For those of you that don't know me personally, I have been getting my hair colored every 8 weeks for the past 10 years. That sounds really bad when I say it out loud! Ha! This can really do a toll on my hair and trust me it does. I do get a treatment every time I get my hair colored, but sometimes that isn't enough. So, that means I need to use great hair products for my upkeep and prevent more damage. Shampoo and conditioner being the two that are most important!

I am always trying new shampoo and conditioners and have yet to find a set that I love! Great shampoo and conditioners can be expensive especially when you buy tons like me and you end up not loving them. Well, I think I have found a set that is VERY affordable and that has my hair feeling oh so soft. The Intensive Repair line from Dove. I have always used Dove soap and deodorant, so when I saw this set for less than $7.00 😱, I knew I had to give it a try. Y'all I am not just blowing smoke when I say, I love this set! For anyone who is looking for a new shampoo & conditioner and has damaged hair, this is your new BFF! It works to repair and stop 90% of hair damage before it happens. That is high percentage that I am loving! It is safe for all hair types and contains Keratin Repair Actives, which helps repair the damage protein structures.  Even though I only wash my hair 3x a week, at most, I have noticed a big improvement. For less than $7, it is definitely worth a shot for those of you that are on the fence.

If you have any questions that I didn't cover about this product, please feel free to comment below or send me a quick e-mail. As always, these are my opinions and thoughts. Products that work well for me, may not always work well for others.

XOXO,

Jen Miracle

Welcome to the 30's Club, sweetheart!

Well, the day has come. I am no longer part of the 20's club. I turn 30 today and to be honest, I don't like it one bit. I remember the day my mom turned 30, she cried and I thought, "why is she crying?! The woman is getting presents, cake, and doesn't have parents bossing her around?" 😏 Now, I know why! I seriously don't like this, ya'll! I want to be that young, hot momma that I once was! Nothing and I mean nothing is bouncing back, but my ass, and when I say bounce I don't mean that with good intent. Getting older sucks! Does this mean that I have to stop shopping at those young and hip stores? Do I get the old mom haircut? You know, the one that looks like a man cut! 🙈 Do I need to up my fiber intake?! Like someone help here because I am new to this club!

But in all seriousness 😏, I think...no, I know, I am going to rock my thirties. My twenties were full of love, some pain, and excitement. It will be extremely hard to top, but I am going to try! For those who don't know me personally, my twenties were for getting married, having babies, and graduating college. Those are 3 HUGE life milestones, so you see why it's going to be hard to top. I probably won't and that is completely ok! I am so blessed to have experience those milestones at a young age.

You may notice that I don't have an outfit inspiration for "Wear it Wednesday." Instead of sharing fashion, I thought I would share 30 things you may or may not know about me to celebrate my 30th. That is hard to say...30th! 😬 After reading, please feel free to leave me a comment at the bottom if you find that we have the same interests or anything else you would like to share! So here we go...EEK!

1. My middle name really is Miracle. I was embarrassed of it when I was younger because I thought it was weird, but now I LOVE it! Thanks, Momma! 😗
2. My husband and I started dating when I was 18 and he was 22. So, I have been with him more than a third of my life. He is one lucky man! 😉
3. I NEVER thought I would have three kids, let alone 3 boys! I love them with every ounce of my body. There are times when I cry because I am so entirely obsessed with them and love them so damn much. You momma's know exactly what I am talking about.
4. I am an only child. Loved it when I was a kid because I was SO spoiled (my husband says I still am) but I hate it now. I envy those with siblings.
5. Roseanne is my favorite  television show of all time. I have seen every episode like 100 times. I don't know why, but it makes me so happy when I watch it.
6. I have one addiction that I have just cannot beat or give up...soda. It's bad! I have tried SO many times to stop drinking it, but I always come back to it. When that McDonald's coke hits my mouth...I die!
7. I was born in Kentucky, lived there for 8 eight years, moved to Missouri and lived there til I was 26, and now we live in Iowa. If I could live anywhere, it would be Florida. Maybe one day!
8. Netflix junkie. I binge watch like no other. I put my all in a show and actually feel like I personally know the characters. I talk about them like I have known them my whole life. Lol.
9. I was ran over by a truck when I was 5. Yes, you read that correctly. I broke my collarbone and had to have stiches in my left ear. I honestly don't know how I survived.
10. I have attended 4 colleges. The first was when I was 20, but soon after I started, I became pregnant with my oldest son. I decided to put all my attention on that since I was so young and finish school later. After my second baby was born, I started online courses through a university that robs people. I won't name and names. I then transferred to a local university in Missouri where I thought I would graduate, but the move to Iowa changed that. I continued online courses through the university in Missouri until I transferred to my alma mater where I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education.
11. I graduated college with a 4.0 and the highest GPA in my program. If this is tooting my own horn then TOOT freaking TOOT! I am very proud to say I accomplished this while having two small children, being pregnant with my third, and having an infant my last semester. Haters can leave!
12. DIY projects and decorating homes is such a passion of mine. I love decorating my home! I feel that if I have to see it everyday, it has to be nice. If I could be anyone I wanted, I would want to be Joanna Gaines. Girl crush for dayyysss.
13. I hate a messy home. No offense to those that do! I just have bad OCD when it comes to keeping my home clean and tidy. It just makes life less stressful when your home is clean and tidy.
14. If I could change one thing about my appearance it would be my nose. I HATE it! I am super self-conscious about it. I want a nose job so bad but my husband says he will leave me if I do. Lol. I know he is not serious so back off. He said that I wouldn't be the woman he married. If I had the extra funds, I would do it in a heartbeat. Sorry, babe!
15. I have only grown a half inch since 7th grade. My husband doesn't believe me but I swear! I was 5'2 in 7th grade and now at 30 years old, I am only 5'2.5".
16. One day I woke up and could barely drink hot coffee. Hot coffee was my jam at one time. Now I prefer a cold coffee or vanilla chai. I can still drink hot coffee, but don't prefer it. The International Delight cold brew is ah-mazing!
17. Any type of sour candy is my absolute favorite. If it were healthy for me, I would eat every.single.day for every meal.
18. I want to go to graduate school to pursue my master's in administration.
19. Even though I have a high passion for fashion, leggings, or skinny jeans, and tees are my everyday look for the most part. Rocking that momiform!
20. I am very close to my mom and living 8 hours away from her is very hard for both of us.
21. I have worn the same pair of diamond earrings for the past {almost} 7 years. It was a Christmas present from my husband our first Christmas as husband and wife. It was a total surprise!
22. I speak sarcasm fluently.
23. I have one dog, Maui, who is 10 years old. She is a yellow lab and is the absolute best dog ever! No joke. She is our first "baby."
24. I love coupons but don't use them for everyday items. Weird, I know..but I will create a million email accounts just so I can get a coupon code for a website. Oops. 🙈
25. I have not had a manicure or pedicure in 3 years. I do them myself and I think I am pretty good at it.
26. I struggle with anxiety and always have. It is worse at times, just depending on that day.
27. I have had short/middle length hair for the past 12 years. I am currently growing it out. It is the longest and most frustrating process!
28. I started cooking "real" meals just 4 years ago. My family has been missing out because I am great cook. Give me any recipe and I will crush it!
29. Blogging scares the hell out of me, but I am loving it! It definitely has been a learning process and I have so much more to learn.
30. The real reason I started this blog was to help overcome depression that I have been battling for a little while now. This is a very hard topic for me to talk about, but I have found that talking about it has helped so much. It is something I struggle with everyday and I wish it upon no one.

WHOO! That was a lot of info about me that I never thought I would share with the world. I could go on and on about things in my life but let's not rush the years...I'm still a young lady...kinda! 😏 Now off to enjoy my day with my favorite 4 boys in the entire universe!

XOXO,

Distressing my Life // Distressed Clothing

It's here again! Everyone's favorite day...FRIDAY! Remember when I was babbling about how hot it has been in Iowa this summer? Well, I think Mother Nature must have read that post because it has felt freaking amazing! It feels like a warm fall morning today. Where's my pumpkin spice latte? A little too soon?! Hehe. I seriously have never been more excited for fall! Anyone else? Speaking of fall, who is ready for chunky sweaters, leggings, and boots? This girl right here sure is! It seriously is my favorite season for dressing. I purchased this chunky sweater from the Nsale that I cannot wait to wear. It's a little different because it has some detailing that I have been obsessing over lately...the distressed look. So without further ado, I bring you my "Friday Favorites!"

I have always loved distressed denim, but never went further than that when it came to distressed clothing items. I have jumped on the "distressed everything" bandwagon and I am loving the ride! This past spring/summer, I purchased a couple of very affordable t-shirts that were distressed. Seriously looks like I have owned these brand new shirts since I was in diapers! 👶 Lol. Not really but you get my drift. There is just something about the look that I love so I knew it had to be one of my "Friday Favorites!"

This BP. Chunky Sweater is soo comfy. I love that it is oversized so it could be paired with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. I did not purchase this as soon as the Nsale started because I really was on the fence about it. I wanted to see if any other bloggers purchased so I could see what the fit was like. Well, lo and behold, one of my blogger idols, Hollie Woodward, posted a picture of her wearing and I instantly fell in love! I was surprised to see it was still in stock in every size. I snagged one up because for under $25, you cannot beat that for a chunky sweater that I will be living in come this fall/winter.

Distressed denim has been around for ages and I am still loving it. I haven't got to that stage in my life when I say to younger folk, "you bought those jeans like that?" You know you have heard that! Haha. I have a few pair of distressed skinny jeans that I love and believe will be a staple in my closet for a long time coming...maybe not too long because I am turning 30 next week! 😭 WAH! It's hard giving advice on what and where to purchase your denim because it truly depends on the person. I have purchased anywhere from JCPenny's to Nordstrom. My only preference is that they are comfortable, not too long, and stretchy. I hate jeans that are stiff and too heavy. It's ok if that is your style but I like to be able to chase my kiddos around and not feel uncomfortable.

Everyone has those t-shirts that they have had forever and  look like they are falling apart. Well folks you don't have to have those t-shirts for ages for them to look that way any longer. Lol. There are some really cute tops that have the distressed look already. I know some people are thinking, "why would I buy tops that have holes and rips?" It does sound silly when you think about it, but they are a hit right now in the "fashion world." These two tops of mine are both from Nordstrom that I purchased a few months ago. I have worn them so much this summer and they just keep getting better with every wash. They aren't too distressed like some of the tops I have seen, but just enough. If you are on the fence about trying a distressed top, I suggest either one of these because they basically just have a cutout neck. Once you try, I think you will jump on this bandwagon with me. 😉

As always, these are my opinions and thoughts! 😊

I hope y'all have a great weekend and I will see you back here Monday for "Makeover Monday!"

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale // Fall

Good morning, afternoon, or evening! Wanted to cover my times because not sure when you are reading this post. 😜 Today for "Wear it Wednesday," I decided to talk about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale just one more time since it ends this Sunday. Now, I may talk about products I purchased later on but I wanted to bring you a few items that are still available and that are all the rave right now. So, let's get going! 😃

1.) This cute-cute-cute striped bell sleeve top is so versatile! This can be worn all year long. I have seen this on many other fashion bloggers and it is adorable on every body type. The best part about this top is that it comes in regular and petite sizes! This is huge for petite women like me, so if you are petite, I would snag this one before they are all gone.

Caslon Sleeve Bell Sleeve Top- $25.90

Main Image - Caslon® Stripe Bell Sleeve Tee (Regular & Petite)

2.) Again, I have seen and heard from so many other fashion bloggers how amazing this ruffle bell sleeve sweater is. It looks amazing on everyone and I want it so bad! Right now it is only available in a couple of sizes so if this is something you can't live without, I say purchase now before it is too late.

BP. Ruffle Bell Cuff Sweater- $31.90

Main Image - BP. Ruffle Bell Cuff Sweater
3.) I have no idea how these are still in stock in every size! If you are a legging type girl, these are going to be your best friend! I do not own these but from what I have heard, these are ah-mazing leggings. They are so tempting. Just might have to snag a pair before the sale ends. These do not come in a petite size but are perfect for boot wearing weather.

Zella Live In High Waist Legging- $35.90

4.) Every woman needs a good pair of distressed skinny jeans in her life and I think I have found the perfect pair! You seriously cannot beat this price and they are available in all sizes except 24! Dang it! From what I have heard, they are super stretchy so you may need to size down. The stretch-ier, the better in my opinion! Lol. Such a good staple to have in your closet.
