Wear it Wednesday // Spring Tops

HI friends! Whew! Where does the time go?! It's been another hot minute since I have written a blog post! I had planned on a post on Monday, but my kiddos had a stomach bug over the weekend and then I had it on Monday. It was AWFUL! I am on the mend, but still really tired and drained. I am so ready to get out the cold and flu season. Anyone else? I am happy to see spring is FINALLY here but ready for warmer temps. I think I said that in my last blog post! Ha! We are still in coats, gloves, and hats here in Iowa. Can I just move to Florida already?! 😉

Since spring is here and we are slowing rearranging our closets from fall/winter to spring/summer clothes, I noticed that my tops needed a little work. I do not have many cutesy spring tops as I would like. I purchased a couple cute spring tops, including this watermelon tee and an avocado tee, to spruce up my top game. They were on sale, of course, and guess what?! They are on MAJOR sale today, so I thought I would share some of my favorite spring tops to give a little inspo for this spring/summer. These tops are very causal, which is what I love most about them, so you can pair them with a pair of denim shorts or jeans. Very simple!

Makeover Monday // St. Moriz Self Tanner Review

Happy Monday! Wasn't it just Friday?! I swear it was! The weekend went by so fast but we did get a few things accomplished! If you read my blog post on Friday, I said something about starting to shiplap our guest bedroom that we are turning into my office/guest bedroom. Well, we got one wall completed! Yay! Now just to shiplap the other 3 walls! I cannot wait to show you guys the transformation. Would that be a blog post you guys would be interested in? Let me know!

Now back to Makeover Monday! After a highly requested blog post on the new self tanner I have been trying, I am finally writing it for y'all. I wanted to use it a few times before giving my honest opinion because I am never going to try and influence you on something I am not 100% sure of. I want you guys to trust me when I do blog posts because that is my number one rule when it comes to blogging, is to NEVER lose your trust.

After using the St. Moriz self tanner for a few weeks now, I can give my honest opinion. There are definitely some pros and cons when it comes to this self tanner. So instead of just rambling any longer, I am going to just do a pro and con list below!

St. Moriz Self Tanner

Pros
1. Very inexpensive (less than $15 a bottle)
2.) It is a foam substance so it is easier to apply,
which also makes it a quick application.
3.) Doesn't have a strong self tanner scent.
If you use self tanner, you know exactly what
I am talking about. It does have a "tan" smell
but its' not overwhelming.
4.) Doesn't streak if applied correctly.
5.) It is colored so you can see when applying.
6.) Leaves a nice bronzed color.

Cons
1.) Mine did not come with a mitt
so if you do not already have a self tanning mit,
you will need to purchase one of those as well.
They are around $3-$5.
2.) The color looks like a charcoal color when applying.
It doesn't leave you with this color so don't freak out
when applying like I did the first time. HA!
3.) Tan only lasts between 3-5 days. I think this is good
considering the price, but usually self tanners last 7 days.
4.) When it begins to fade, it doesn't really fade evenly.

Whew, that was a lot! Hope that wasn't too overwhelming! As you can see, there are more pros than cons. I would highly suggest this self tanner especially for the price. It is comparable to the St. Tropez that I love but doesn't have the same price tag. St. Tropez is better quality but if are not wanting to spend $40 on a bottle of self tanner, St. Moriz is the way to go. I have a blog post on my self tanning routine if you would like to see how to use self tanner. I am going to be working on an updated version because I have changed it a little, but it is still a great tutorial.

Here is a before and after of my legs. Yes, I just tanned one leg just for you guys so you could see the results! Hehe. Thank goodness it's not shorts season yet!

This is letting it "soak" for 8 hours.

This is after rinsing it off in the shower, so the final results.

As always, just click on the picture to shop. I have linked both the dark (the one I use) and medium bottle of St. Moriz as well as the St. Tropez if you would rather try that. Have a great Monday, friends! FYI, the medium color of the St. Moriz is only $6.99 and the St. Tropez is 15% off!

Easter Dress Guide // Under $25

Happy Fri-YAY, friends! I am SO happy it is the weekend! It was a super long week here in our household so I am happy to the weekend in sight. I am trying to convince my hubby to start the shiplap in my soon-to-be blogger room this weekend. We are supposed to get ice tomorrow morning so we will see how that goes! Fingers crossed! I will probably do a blog post on transforming our guest bedroom into a blogger/guest bedroom on a budget once it's completed, which will probably be next year since my hubby is moving at snail pace! HA! Do you have any fun plans this weekend?!

Now on to what you are really here for...EASTER DRESSES! I did a poll on my instastories to see if you guys would be interested in an Easter dress guide and the majority vote was yes so here I am to deliver. I decided to keep the dresses $25 and under because if you are like me, you will buy the dress and not wear it again. I do that all the time with special occasion dresses so why go spend a ton on something you are just going to wear once?!

When I think of Easter dresses, I automatically think of lace, white, pastels, and floral. I think that because these were the types of dresses my mom had me wear on Easter.  Except I don't have the matching hat and stockings to link! 😉 I am obsessed with all the dresses I have chosen for this dress guide. Even though they are $25 and under, they are S'CUTE (so cute)! Pairing these dresses with a nude heel or wedges, which most of us have already in our closet, would be perfect so no need to purchase shoes.

As always, click on the picture to shop! If you have any questions about any of the dresses or what jewelry or shoes I think would look best, please feel free to leave a comment, email, or DM on Instagram. I love chatting with y'all!

Happy Shopping!

Wear it Wednesday // Spring Booties

Happy Hump Day, babes! I cannot believe it is already the middle of March! Where does the time go?! We had such a great, long weekend! My two oldest were on spring break from Friday-Tuesday, we celebrated my youngest son's 2nd birthday, the boys had their last basketball game, and my in-laws visited. It was a very busy weekend but so much fun!

Is it me or does it still feel like winter outside?! I thought with daylight savings time came the spring-like weather?! HA! I wish! I don't think we really get a spring here in Iowa ::insert eye roll:: Since it is still colder than I would like, it is so hard to dress for spring! I want to bring out my sandals and cute dresses. I know I am not the only one! Since I cannot do that, I guess I can bring out my cute spring booties. No, I don't mean my behind because trust me, no one wants to see that! Lol. I am talking about shoes!

Booties aren't just for fall. Nope, they can also be worn in the spring. I talked about this a few blog posts back. It's a way to be able to put those OTK (over the knee) boots and snow boots away, but still have warmth on your feet. For me, I think perforated booties are perfect for spring because they are still warm enough for the cooler spring days, but don't exactly look like winter boots. You know what I'm saying! HA! Booties can be hard to find since a lot of retailers think to only bring them out during the colder months. Have no fear because I have rounded up some cute options and the best part is most of them are only $20 today! YAAAS!

I decided to put a few other bootie options in the mix as well that are still spring appropriate! As always, just click on the picture to shop! Happy Shopping, loves!

50% off Spring Items

Happy Monday, friends! Anyone else dragging this Monday after the time change? It gets me every time. I am on my third cup of coffee and I don't think it will be last today! Lol. Even though I hate the "drag" that comes with daylight savings time, I love that means we are closer to spring! Which means warmer weather and brighter clothing! Yay!

Since one of my favorite retailers is having 50% off their entire site plus free shipping with code SLAMDUNK, I decided to do a little round up of my spring favorites to brighten up your wardrobe a little. This is the best time to order because items from the retailer sell out quick and they never go on sale...at least 50% off with free shipping! I ordered a couple items that I cannot share with ya'll! They are both SO cute!

I have rounded up a few tops, dresses, bottoms, and jewelry items! As always, just scroll through the pictures and click to shop! Happy Shopping, babes!!

Wear it Wednesday // Spring and Summer Sweaters

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's been awhile! We have been so super busy lately that I caused me to be MIA on the blog. From basketball and baseball practice/games, mom life, and planning our trip to Chicago, I just did not have the time to actually sit and write a blog post. Things are going to start slowing down around here so hopefully I will be back on schedule.

Our trip to Chicago was so much fun! We love visiting there and find something different to do each time we go. This time we went to a Chicago Bulls game, which was a blast! We our die hard basketball fans in our household so everyone really enjoyed it. Even though it was a short trip (24 hours to be exact, HA!) I packed like three outfits. I have to say my favorite look of the trip was definitely the one I am featuring today...black denim with a lightweight striped sweater. Can't go wrong with stripes, am I right!?

Did you know that sweaters aren't just for fall and winter? Yep, I wear them year round except my chunky knits because those are more for fall and winter. Light weight sweaters are so perfect to transition into spring and continue throughout summer. I think they look so cute with white denim or a pair of denim shorts. Even though it was a little colder than I expected in Chicago, this sweater was so perfect to wear.

I usually tend to lean more towards pastel and bright colored sweaters for spring and summer because you don't want those neutrals to wash you out too much in the warmer months. If I do go for neutrals it will have some type of pattern, like the stripes on this sweater. I did pair it with black denim because it was rainy out, so white would have been a mess. Pairing this sweater with white denim, denim shorts, or just plain ole denim would look cute as well! The different ways to wear this sweater is endless. It will definitely be on repeat this year!

I have linked other light weight sweaters that are perfect for spring and summer! As always, just click on the picture to shop!
